Robert Weinstock, M.D.

Dr Weinstock has become locally, nationally and internationally known for his cutting edge, state of the art technique in cataract and refractive surgery. He was the first eye surgeon to remove a
cataract through a 1.2 millimeter incision and has been invited to lecture and teach other surgeons from around the world on this safer, less invasive technique for removing cataracts.

Leonard S. Kirsch, M.D.

Dr. Kirsch is known internationally for his numerous book and journal publications and in ongoing research. Recently he was honored with admission to the prestigious Vitreous Society.

Richard J. Hairston, M.D.

Dr. Hairston is a Fellowship Trained, Board Certified Ophthalmologist strictly specializing in Retina and vitreous disorders. He has been providing unparalleled expert care for The Eye Institute of West Florida’s patients since 2001. Dr. Hairston graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is nationally known for numerous research projects, journal publications and a textbook on ocular trauma.

Jeffrey Schwartz, M.D.

Dr. Schwartz is a Fellowship Trained, Board Certified Ophthalmologist strictly specializing in glaucoma. He has been providing unparalleled expert care for the Eye Institute of West Florida’s patients since 1988. Dr. Schwartz is nationally recognized for his many publications and presentations on lasers, automated visual field machines, medication research and developmental abnormalities of the eye.

Kevin Greenidge, M.D.

Dr. Greenidge is a Fellowship Trained, Board Certified Ophthalmologist strictly specializing in glaucoma. He is an accomplished leader in his specialty and joined The Eye Institute of West Florida in 2005. Dr. Greenidge is nationally recognized for his knowledge and skills in the medical and surgical treatment of difficult glaucoma cases. Additionally, he is known for his successful surgery in infants and children with glaucoma.

William Mack, M.D.

Dr. William Mack specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery. Dr. Mack also brings his expertise in CO2 laser skin resurfacing to The Eye Institute Of West Florida. Dr. Mack is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida where he teaches residents the art of his specialty.

Magda Barsoum-Homsy, M.D.

Dr. Magda Barsoum-Homsy specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus affecting both children and adults. Dr. Barsoum-Homsy is Board Certified and Fellowship Trained. She is internationally recognized as one of the leading Pediatric Ophthalmologist in the country and is a recipient of the Achievement Award from the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She has been invited to be a guest lecturer abroad (Africa, Europe and Asia) and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She has also contributed chapters to numerous medical text books. She is one of very few pediatric ophthalmologists on the West Coast of Florida with the experience and surgical skills to treat cataracts and glaucoma in children. She is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida where she teaches residents the science and art of pediatric ophthalmology. 

A native of Minnesota,
Dr. Douglas Johnson graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 1976.   He then completed four additional years of study in Boston, Massachusetts, where he concentrated on vision care and eye diseases at the New England College of Optometry.   He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Optometry, with honors, in 1980.

Dr. Johnson has been providing comprehensive eye care for families in the Tampa Bay area for over 23 years.   His careful attention to detail has given him a reputation for providing his patients with highly accurate prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Dr. Johnson has the training and experience necessary to initiate diagnostic testing for virtually all eye and vision conditions, and treats patients with many eye diseases and abnormalities.
